I like the potter's wheel, where a ball of clay can be quickly transformed into an rustic form, that pleases my eye. Each pot is individual that I make, decorating the pot is a lengthy process.
I draw inspiration from nature such as flowers. I use coloured slips, brush on glazes which are hand painted on to the surface of the pot when biscut fired I use brush on glazes.I use a majolica glaze over the top.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The clays I use are white earthenware , red terracotta. I biscut fire to about 1000 degrees in a
electric kiln and up to 1040 gloss.
